It’s one of the quick snack items you can make when you family is getting ready to watch a movie or something for evening snack. It’s one of C’s favorite snack and we make it at least once a week.

Puffed rice – 7 cups
Peanuts – 1 cup
Salt – 1 teaspoon
Coconut oil – 2 tablespoon  (any oil is fine, but coconut oil gives you nice flavor)
Red chilli – 2 (optional if you don’t want it to be spicy)
Garlic (cut into small pieces) – 1/4 cups (optional)
Curry leaves – 1/4 cups (optional)
Turmeric – 1 tea spoon (optional) – it gives you the pretty yellow color

  1. Keep the stove in medium flame, pour oil, and wait for few minutes
  2. Once the oil is hot, put garlic and curry leaves
  3. Once garlic is cooked (becomes brownish color), add peanuts and red chilli
  4. Fry for few minutes until the peanuts become lightly brown
  5. Add salt and turmeric powder and stir until they mix well
  6. Add puffed rice and lightly stir until puffed rice becomes hot and crisp (3-5 mins max)

It doesn’t take more than 10 mins and it can be stored for future use. Make sure you store it in air tight container.
